Bansko Winter Season Ends April 15th, 2018

It’s been a good season here in Bansko, but the time has almost come to put our skis back under the living room couch and take to summer activities. The lifts this year will close on Sunday, April 15th, so this means we have just under two weeks left to ski. During 2017/18 we saw a lot of new and old guests, plenty of snow, great powder days and some bad weather from time to time. It was a great season so far, but it ain’t over yet!

Now, until the lifts officially close, we can enjoy the perfect spring skiing conditions the Pirin mountains have to offer. The days are predominantly sunny, the slopes empty and having a beer in between runs instead of hot chocolate is considered perfectly normal, even if it is only 11 AM. And don’t forget the sunscreen, unless you want to go home with a gnarly goggle tan, that will make all of your colleagues jealous.

If April 15th seems like it’s too early to finish the season, keep on eye on Borovets. Many years they’ll extend the season if there is enough snow, but for now the season there is also set to close on the 15th.

Ever since I started skiing at the age of 6, I knew that the mountains were where I wanted to be as much as possible. I enjoy most mostly big mountain skiing during the winter, but am happy just being out of the city.
