Packing for your ski trip is better to be planned in advance, especially if you have to fit your items in one carry-on suitcase. The golden rule of ski holiday preparation is clever packing. We prepared a list of all the potential things for packing for your next ski trip. Except for the documents, travel essentials, toiletries аnd basic clothing, here’s what we believe is necessary for your ski trip:
Ski Clothing
Making sure you pack the correct ski clothing means you’ll be ready to hit the slopes once you arrive at the ski resort. You may have heard the quote ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes’. So having the right clothing can be crucial to enjoying your time on the slopes.
-
Jacket
-
Pants/Salopettes
-
Gloves/Mittens
-
Neckwarmer/Buff
-
Ski Socks
-
Baselayer
-
Hat/Beanie
-
Mid-layers (fleece jumpers)
Tips:
- Make sure the clothing is waterproof, breathable, and comfortable. Always dress in layers as the weather can change throughout the day.
- Ski jacket and pants might be rented if you don’t bring your own.
- If you forget or need any accessories, you can buy them once you’re in the resort.
- Ski & Board Traventuria offers a wide range of ski accessories for sale at a reasonable price.
Ski Equipment
You can rent ski equipment in the resort. This would save you space and will make your trip easier and cheaper in some cases.
-
Ski boots/Snowboard boots
-
Ski/Snowboard
-
Ski Poles (if you’re a skier)
-
Helmet
-
Goggles
-
Day backpack (for carrying your phone, water, extra layers, etc.)
Tips:
- Check if your airline allows bags for ski and boots if you bring your own equipment.
- For your first few ski holidays, it is better to rent equipment until you know what works best for you.
- Book your equipment and lift pass online, so it’s just an easy matter of picking it up when you arrive.
- If you wonder where to store your rented equipment overnight, have a look at a previous blog post of ours.

Thanks for the tips. We enjoyed a week in Bansko in 2018 and are hoping to return in November 2021 . As some members of our party are teacher’s we have to travel in the school holidays which is usually very expensive. Bansko offers great value for all aspects of the skiing experience. We were also very impressed with the service we received in the ski shop.
