Finally today we got to ski some more slopes, even though it was a day later than what resort management had told us. The new slopes that are open are “Kolarski”, “Ulen”; “Shiligarnik 2” and “Strazhite”.
One of the favorite slopes of many skiers in Bansko is the number 10. The snow cover is surprisingly good and there are almost no rocks. The snow isn’t very icy either, which is good for all the beginners. We are still waiting for the number 5 “Shiligarnik 1” to open. There is quite a bit of snow on the slope. Even though it hadn’t been packed by the snow cats, many people still tried it in the hopes of finding some powder, or more probably some rocks.
The 4 seater lift – Mosta, was also working today. This allowed us to get some runs in on the number 12 slope, which is red. Again the snow cover was suufficient and I didn’t encounter any rocks. I did encounter any empty candy bar wrapper though. Please don’t leave your trash on the mountain!
As a whole the conditions are great for the beginning of the season, but have been better in previous years. There are almost no lift lines which is also and added bonus, for now at least. We don’t know when the rest of the slopes will open, but once we do we will let you know.
That’s all from us from today. We will keep you updated with the conditions throughout the season.
Keep an eye on the weather forecast
