Snow Check 2nd of January 2016

0

This is our first snow check for 2016 and things are already looking much better in Bansko. Since the new year a few new slopes have been open and the rest are sure to open as well soon.

The new slopes that are open are:

N.4 – Balkaniada – Only the top section is open, that leads from the top of the “Todorka” lift to the beginning of the N.6 run.

N.6 – Todorka

N.9 – Tomba

The Ski Road

The snow conditions are good, however it was becoming a little icy at the top in the afternoon. I would suggest beginners to keep to the lower N.10 and N.1 slopes and the ski road. But for more advanced skiers the top slopes are good. The lift lines for the Banderitsa 1 and Todorka lifts are also much shorter, as none of the easy slopes, such as the Plato, are open. Be wary in the earlier part of the day as it is still shady on the slopes and visibility may not be perfect, depending on your ski mask. Little bumps and non-perfect slope can surprise you at the last second.

Also great news is the open ski road. Now we can get back down to town much faster than with the gondola. The snow forecast is showing plenty of new snow on Sunday night, so hopefully our next snow report will be from after a nice powder day!
