The finish area.

Due to the races, the lower part of the Tomba slope is closed. The beginner slope between the Kolarski and Buderitza ski lifts is also closed. It has been turned into a small race course that any snowboarder can have a go at. The fastest even win prizes. Today the beginner slope and Panitza B surface lifts on buderishka Poliana were also working. On the top of the mountain, the N.2 Ski run is also closed.

In good condition today was Chalin Valog, however it was slightly slushy by the late afternoon. The less known second ski road is also open. This connects the bottom of The Bridge lift and the top of the Chalin Valog ski area. The advatage to the normal ski road is that it’s less crowded, but there are a few flat parts. If your snowboard or skis aren’t properly waxed, you’ll probably end up pushing a little.

Piste conditions on the rest of the mountain are softer than earlier in the season. Temperatures are around the freezing level, but winds higher in the mountain make it fell much colder. On Bunderishka Poliana and Shiligarnika the conditions were perfect to sit and have a beer. No wind there meant it felt much warmer. Lift lines on the mountain are small, but down at the gondola the wait can be 30-40 minutes.

We will have a full report from the Snowboard World Cup here in Bansko after the event.
